The Law Council

Post by Ashla on Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:33 pm

This is where bills are addressed and either vetoed or approved
Each member has 1 vote, unless majority restrictions are present, in which case the minority has two votes.
Majority vote passes a bill
All Passed Bills must be sent to the Sign/Veto section of the Royal Affairs, where the queen or king may sign or veto the bill, making it either a law or a discarded bill

Type of Bill: Choose Below:
A) Tax B) Criminal Law C) Requirement(Such as health codes) D) Other
Name of Bill: Pesticides and Cattle Health
Description: All commercial and contract farms must refrain from using pesticides in growing food and the use of such will result in a removal of all permits to supply foodstuffs. In addition, farmers must feed commercial cattle non-pesticide grass, and the feeding of corn to commercial cattle will result in a similar action as that described in the pesticide part of this bill.

Date of Proposal: January 14th, 2017

I have added this bill to the queue for the Law Council because I think it will be beneficial to the union. Pesticides are bad for farm animals and consumers. Both farm animals and humans experience health problems by consuming food with pesticides. They serve no good use other than to artificially enhance food.

Type of Bill: Choose Below:
A) Tax B) Criminal Law C) Requirement(Such as health codes) D) Other
Name of Bill: Foodstuffs Labels
Description: All producers of foodstuffs must label their products, in order to prevent allergies and consumption of inadvisable foods.

Date of Proposal: January 15th, 2017

I have added this bill to the queue for the Law Council because it will protect the health of consumers. Accidental health problems arising from allergic reactions can be prevented with this passage of this bill. People can also make healthier lifestyle choices if they know what they are consuming.

Type of Bill: Choose Below:
A) Tax  B) Criminal Law C) Requirement(Such as health codes) D) Other
Name of Bill: Unborn Fetus Protection Act
Description: This bill would guarantee the right to life from the moment of conception. Anything that would take away the right to life from an unborn fetus would be banned. This bill would classify abortion as feticide.

I have added this bill to the queue for debate by the Law Council because it is necessary to defend the unborn. The unborn are the most vulnerable living creatures. They are defenseless against abortion doctors. Science has proven that life begins at the moment of conception. This bill would extend the right to life to all humans. This bill will not punish women who receive an abortion. It will punish the person who performed the abortion instead.

Barisea, as the head of state, wishes to act as a tie breaker.
We wish to notify you that the queen will veto the unborn procession act legislation if it passes this council.
Ashla has approved of the foodstuffs labels.

She also wishes to bring the issue of taxes to the council. A comprehensive tax to keep the government running is necessary. I have proposed a 5% sales tax on coal, which would give the government a total of 24 billion $ to work with other ideas are welcome

Mr. Iger is not surprised by Queen Ashla's intentions to veto the Unborn Fetus Protection Act. He realizes that Queen Ashla is a teenage girl with liberal values. He knows that most teen girls are like that. He still votes in favor of it in order to send a message to the people.

Type of Bill: Choose Below:
A) Tax  B) Criminal Law C) Requirement(Such as health codes) D) Other
Name of Bill: Coal Tax
Description: Coal will have a sales tax of 5%. When a person buys coal, they must pay the price of coal and also the sales tax. If coal costs $1 a bag, the buyer must pay $1.05, 5 cents goes to the government treasury.

Reasoning: Coal is bad for the environment and is the only source of plastics. We need plastics for almost everything and we have other energy sources. Coal should be used exclusively for plastics. Also, this helps the health of living resources and citizens by protecting the atmosphere.
This tax, which is equal to $3.75 additional money per ton, which already costs $75, would bring four billion dollars to the treasury every year.

Date of Proposal: January 15th, 2017

I have no objections to this bill because it places a tax on coal. Coal is not beneficial to our economy. It does more harm than good. A tax on coal would not negatively affect the general public.

Senator Iger is disappointed that Queen Ashla voted against the Unborn Fetus Protection Act. He understands the power of feminism among the youth and he doesn't underestimate it. He still wishes to find a way to protect the unborn. He will look for alternative solutions to the abortion problem.

Type of bill: Special: War
Name of Bill Declaration of war on Arendelle und Wesselton und Sud-Inseln
Description: Declaration of war on the said nation, non-nuclear, biological or chemical warfare will be used. All member states' forces, coordinated by the generals of the War and Peace council, will fight the nation with the goal of total removal.
Please refrain from leaving the land barren or killing all citizens. States are welcome to raid palaces, farmhouses, etc. Loot may be taken. The main goal is to annex the nation, however, we must carefully release it after a transition in power to avoid a situation like the Middle East.

I have added this bill to the queue because it is important to defeat Phoenix Empress Helga. She is a monster that threatens our whole union. She has disdain for Queen Ashla. She must be stopped before she can cause damage to our union.

The RKGA votes against this bill, disdain for our monarch is not a valid reason for declaration for war. If she does pose an actual threat the RKGAF will lead the charge against them.

Type of Bill: Choose Below:
A) Tax B) Criminal Law C) Requirement(Such as health codes) D) Other
Name of Bill: Repealment Pesticides and Cattle Health
Description: Hereby repeals the Pesticides and Cattle Health Act

Date of Proposal January 19th 2017

The region of Arnor is highly dependent on pesticides to prevent locust swarms from wreaking havoc on crops. Already food production is decreased by 30% and the regional government is requesting food shipments from Gondor. This act must be repealed immediately to prevent a famine.

Are you not against Phoenix Empress Helga? She has fire powers are she has shown that she wants to be rivals with the Kingdom of Barisea. She has a personal conflict with Queen Ashla. She may want to attack us. We need to find a way to prevent her from endangering our leader and our people.

I am okay with the law being repealed. It is not a big issue to me, so I would likely vote yes on whatever bill pertains to the issue.
